Our Story
Up-cycled fashion is important for a number of reasons. Firstly, it promotes sustainable fashion by repurposing existing materials and reducing textile waste. This is important as the fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world and it is important to reduce its environmental impact. Secondly, up-cycled fashion provides a unique and one-of-a-kind aesthetic, as each piece is different and has its own story. This makes it more interesting and unique than mass-produced clothing. Up-cycled fashion also promotes ethical fashion as it helps to reduce the need for new materials to be produced and reduces the exploitation of labor in the fashion industry. Moreover, it is a way to preserve the cultural heritage and traditional art. In summary, up-cycled fashion is important because it is eco-friendly, unique, ethical, and culturally rich.
Our Mission
When I was introduced to sari wrap skirts fell in LOVE. The idea of wearing gorgeous silk skirts that were two in one had me sold! I love fashion and all that goes with it. Before 2020 I was in the process of starting my own clothing line. But after a series of unfortunate events I put that on pause and focused on my family. My love of fashion resurfaced again and that’s when I found wrap skirts. I began thinking maybe there is an opportunity for me to find a supplier and introduce these gorgeous skirts to others. Thus Marigold and Marie was created!
